  Carbon Reduction

  To
  avoid
  critical
  changes
  in
  our
  biosphere,
  it
  is
  crucial
  that
  global
  warming
  is
  kept
  to
  under
  1.5°C.
  To
  do
  so,
  organisations
  around
  the
  world
  need
  to
  take
  up
  this
  challenge
  by
  taking
  ambitious
  climate
  action
  to
  reduce
  (and,
  to
  an
extent, reverse) the damage humans have caused to the environment.
  Reduction
  targets
  are
  part
  of
  a
  broader
  climate
  action
  strategy.
  A
  holistic
  strategy
  defines
  an
  organisation’s
  climate
  action
  vision
  and
  goals,
  how
  these
  commitments
  are
  anchored
  in
  the
  orgsnistion,
  the
  short,
  mid-
  and
  long-term
  reduction
  targets
  and
  a
  roadmap
  for
  how
  these
  can
  be
  achieved.
  At
  Climate
  Partrners,
  we
  provide
  the
  services
  and
support needed to respond to the climate challenge.

  Scope
  1,
  2
  and
  3
  carbon
  emissions
  across
  your
  organisation,
  has
  identified
emissions ‘hot spots’ and can focus short term attentions on dealing with these.
Scope 2 emissions are usually assesed and positive action taken as soon as practicable.
There are 2 broad approaches suggested by Climate Partners:
  •

  Organisational
  Practices:
  changes
  that
  can
  be
  made
  to
  organisation
  practices
  which
  yield
  lowered
  a
  lowering
  of
  emissions
  •

Products and Technolgies: things that can be purchased or implemented that will lower emissions

  Scope

  improvements,
  analysis
  of
  organisational
  practices
  and
  operations
  with
  a
  view
  to
  identifying
  ways
  in
  which
  practical
  and
  cost
  effective
  enhancements
  could
  be
  made,
  and
  being
  aware
  of
  the
  products
  and
  technologies
  available
  and
how and which of these could be meaninfully adopted by the organisation.
